I'm running Windows XP Home Edition on an HP laptop and I've been getting a flickering Windows Installer dialogue box which says "preparing to install..." I have no idea what it's trying to install but the whole computer is hampered. I think it's due to whatever is going on with the Windows Installer. Something must be running in the background. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks!
